The more than 40 limestone caverns are the main attraction at Barra Honda National Park. However, the park also has a series of well maintained hiking trails. The protected tropical dry forest within its borders is some of the last in the world, and any time of year you can hope to see howler monkeys, deer, raccoons, peccaries, kinkajous, agoutis, and anteaters.
